Customer Marketing Manager, Startups

Responsibilities

  • Build a deep understanding of startup customers, including their products, growth stage, and use cases, to help determine which accounts and stories to prioritize
  • Balance highly customized, high-touch customer partnerships with scalable programs that engage a broader startup audience
  • Support customer storytelling efforts from identifying the right story through content creation and distribution
  • Partner closely with startup partnerships, sales, and marketing teams to identify strong co-marketing opportunities
  • Adapt a single customer story into multiple formats such as editorial content, video, case studies, social content, press, and speaking opportunities
  • Develop multi-channel customer campaigns that strengthen adoption, advocacy, and engagement
  • Cook up internal and external amplification efforts to maximize the reach and impact of customer stories
  • Help define clear expectations for co-marketing opportunities and support consistent sales enablement around those programs
  • Travel as needed to support customer events, activations, and industry engagements

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in customer marketing, ideally within B2B SaaS or a similar environment
  • Strong storytelling skills, with proven experience creating content that supports business goals
  • Ability to work across customers of different sizes and maturity levels, including fast-growing startups and enterprise organizations
  • Demonstrated success creating content in multiple formats, including written, video, and event-based materials
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside sales, product, and communications teams
  • Strategic judgment and the ability to prioritize requests effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and execution skills
  • Comfort working independently with minimal direction while managing multiple priorities
  • Data-informed mindset with an interest in measuring and improving program impact

Preferred Skills

  • Experience placing customers or founders in speaking opportunities, press coverage, or event programming
  • Background working with enterprise technology companies and their unique needs
  • Experience with prioritization or intake processes in partnership with a sales organization
  • Creative approach to customer engagement, advocacy, and relationship-building
  • Able to think outside the box and develop innovative marketing programs
