Customer Field Representative I
About the role
This is a permanent Customer Field Representative I position within PSE’s Customer Operations team. The role involves providing on-premise customer assistance throughout the PSE service area, including tasks related to service connections, meter readings, and customer account management.
This job is regulated by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and requires pre-employment and random drug screenings, including for marijuana and its metabolites.
Responsibilities
- Advise customers on service sign-ups and requirements.
- Gather meter reads and discuss past-due balances with customers.
- Report potential rate discrepancies, theft situations (including tampering and energy diversion), and customer service disconnects/reconnects.
- Perform collection tasks and disconnect/reconnect single-phase self-contained meters.
- Work with customers to obtain meter check reads, resolve access issues, and perform meter verifications.
- Perform similar and incidental duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license.
- One (1) year of experience in customer field technician roles, maintenance, utility construction labor, or warehouse work within the last three (3) years.
- Professional driving experience is desired.
Job Conditions and Physical Effort
The role involves both office and outdoor work environments, including:
- Occasional sitting, frequent standing, walking, light to moderate lifting/carrying, bending, reaching, kneeling, twisting, balancing, and climbing.
- Operation of tools, equipment, vehicles, and keyboard/telephone systems.
- Exposure to various weather conditions, noise levels, hazardous conditions, and outdoor work surfaces.
- Frequent use of protective clothing for certain tasks.
- Potential for irregular work schedules and overtime.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $33.74 per hour, with eligibility for annual goal-based incentive bonuses.

Schedule
This position follows a Tuesday–Saturday schedule, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
