About the role
We are looking for a Customer Experience Attendant to join our team. This role focuses on delivering quality customer service, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a cheerful manner as they enter the store and thank them as they leave.
- Answer customer questions and provide assistance to ensure quality customer service.
- Retrieve all shopping carts on the premises safely and efficiently, ensuring they are not left in parking areas and are taken to the front of the store for customer use.
- Empty carts of debris and remove defective carts from service.
- Help customers by loading their groceries into vehicles.
- Keep the parking lot, store vestibule, and front-end clean and free of debris.
- Maintain trash and recycling receptacles on the porch, emptying and replacing bags as necessary.
- Remain alert to safety issues, particularly in entrance and exit areas to prevent slip and fall hazards.
- Assist cashiers by bagging groceries as required and promptly respond to intercom pages.
- Sweep, wash, mop, and perform general clean-up work.
- Clean restrooms and break rooms, replenish supplies, and dispose of waste.
- Maintain the building and surrounding grounds in an orderly condition.
- Operate (if over 18 years of age and properly trained) various motor-driven cleaning equipment and maintain it in good repair.
- Help keep the sales floor free of slip and trip hazards.
- Clear sidewalks and porch of snow and ice as needed.
- Dispose of trash and other debris in the back room, break room, front-end, and parking lot.
- Notify store management when repairs or maintenance are needed or when unsafe conditions are observed.
- Inform store management when additional supplies are needed.
- Ensure smooth function of the department and store by cooperating with co-workers and supervisors.
- Continuously improve job performance.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Completed or working towards a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- No prior experience required.
