About the role

Under the direct supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor, performs routine manual tasks in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions and appearance of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Cleans garden and assisted living homes, apartments, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways and any other assigned areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing; to include light upholstery cleaning.
• Cleans Spa Rooms and Equipment except the inside of the Tub and that portion of the Transfer Chair inside the tub when being used.
• Operates a variety of floor care equipment including but not limited to an auto scrubber, carpet extractor, steam cleaner and wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas and floors, and power washing.
• Assists on floor maintenance crew whose work involves the principal responsibility for stripping, buffing, burnishing, polishing and waxing floors with industrial grade machinery.
• Uses proper/correct dilutions of cleaning agent as instructed by the manufacturer.
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Disposes of infectious waste when necessary.
• Assists as needed on set‑up crew with principal responsibilities for setting up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, auctions or other occasions.
• Replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand cleaner/soap.
• Keeps storage areas well stocked, clean, and organized.
• Reports building or equipment repairs to the Facilities department.
• Performs many varied custodial tasks related to the maintenance of the facility.
• Performs custodial related duties required to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Has knowledge of custodial, housekeeping, laundry operations, and floor care.
• Is organized, able to multi‑task, think creatively and adapt to different situations.
• Preferably has knowledge on using iPad (training will be provided).
• Must be able to complete training on computer and/or other devices.
• Maintains competency in the position and stays current with trade/industry advances and new technologies.
