• Shift: Full-time | 2nd Shift | 37.5 Hours per week
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 2:15 pm – 10:15 pm
• Note: While CTECS follows a ten-month academic calendar, this position is year-round.

Your Role

As a Custodian, you will play an essential role in supporting students, staff, and visitors by ensuring that classrooms, offices, common areas, and outdoor spaces are well-maintained and ready for daily activities. From performing routine cleaning and floor care to reporting repair needs and completing minor maintenance tasks, your work will contribute directly to a positive learning environment. Responsibilities

• Perform custodial tasks and maintenance of areas such as classrooms, offices, auditoriums, wards, kitchens, dining rooms and lavatories including outdoor areas (i.e. trash around buildings)
• Dust, mop, sweep, scrub, strip, wax and polish floors, shampoo carpets using appropriate equipment such as floor polishers and buffers
• Wash, dust and polish glass including windows, woodwork, walls, furniture and metal equipment
• Collect and dispose of all trash and recycling in the appropriate containers
• Report needs for repairs
• Perform minor maintenance
• Inspect building for damage and report conditions to supervisor
• Perform related duties as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience performing custodial work in a school
• Experience waxing and polishing floors using floor polishers and buffers
• Experience removing snow and ice from stairways and walkways around schools or other large buildings
• Experience with deep cleaning and disinfecting large facilities
• Experience moving furniture in a school and setting up classrooms

Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to risk of injury from equipment and/or individuals.
