THE POSITION
The State of Connecticut, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the position of Maintainer to join our team within the Physical Plant.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience providing services for a facility that operates 24/7/365.
- Experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Experience with custodial duties including mopping, disinfecting, stripping and waxing floors, and terminal cleaning.
- Experience with infectious disease protocols.
- Experience with building and equipment maintenance.
- Holds a valid driver's license.
- Experience with trades such as Electrical, (HVAC) Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Carpentry, Masonry, Painting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Incumbents in this class may be required by the appointing authority to possess and retain appropriate current licenses, permits and/or certifications.
- Incumbents in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility, visual and auditory acuity, and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties of the class.
- A physical examination may be required.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to lift moderate to heavy weights and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions and risk of injury from equipment and assaultive and/or abusive patients and/or clients.
- Incumbents in this class may be required to complete an asbestos removal program consistent with EPA guidelines for operations and maintenance during employment in this class. Incumbents may be required to use protective equipment such as respirators and safety goggles.
