Custodial Worker (Part Time)

Organization: Behavioral Health – Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Agency. Contact: Donita Alcodray, 419-381-1881. Location: 930 South Detroit Avenue, Toledo, OH 43614. Compensation: $18.87/hour (Step 2 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule). Schedule: Permanent part-time. Work hours: 7:00 am–3:30 pm (normal hours noted as 8:00 am–4:30 pm). Classified position; represented by OCSEA and the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit. Primary skill: Custodial. Starting at Step 1 with increase after six months and annual raises thereafter.

About the Role

• Clean and maintain assigned areas (dining areas, restrooms, offices, units): dust, mop, sweep, buff and wax floors, scrub sinks, toilets, countertops, walls and ceilings, dust and clean furniture and equipment, empty trash, wash windows, polish mirrors and glass, vacuum and shampoo carpet, replenish soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
• Perform grounds duties: remove snow and/or ice from walkways, remove litter from grounds, sweep walkways, raise/lower flag, report any evidence of fire, illegal entry or theft of property.
• Perform other related duties: stock supply closets, replace light bulbs, report need for equipment repair, secure doors/windows, move furniture, sort and wash linens/laundry.
• Attend mandated trainings and staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Formal education in arithmetic (addition and subtraction) and in reading and speaking common English vocabulary.
• Classification designated as unskilled labor class per Section 124.11(B)(2) of the Revised Code, exempt from written examination.
• Equivalent of the above minimum class qualifications accepted.
• Job skill: Custodial.
• Official transcripts required for all post-secondary education, coursework or degrees listed on the application; must be submitted within five business days of request (website printouts not accepted).

Additional Details

Hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit. Pay range corresponds to Step 2 on the applicable pay schedule. Normal working hours are 8:00 am–4:30 pm. Position located at the Northwest Behavioral Healthcare Campus, 930 South Detroit Avenue, Toledo, OH 43614. Selected candidate begins at Step 1 with opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and yearly raises thereafter.
