Custodial Worker

About the role

The Custodial Worker performs daily cleaning of facilities, grounds, and equipment for various buildings on the Downtown Campus. This includes detailed cleaning of offices, classrooms, and public restrooms, as well as daily scripted work and periodic maintenance assignments from the Assistant Supervisor of Facilities Services. This is an Essential Personnel position, requiring the incumbent to report for duty and work through emergencies or as designated for critical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 45 lbs., including up and down stairs and throughout the work area
• Climb ladders up to 6' in height and flights of stairs
• Operate commercial cleaning machinery, including but not limited to rotary buffers, vacuum cleaners, pressure washers, man lifts, extractors, and blowers
• Understand and carry out verbal and written instructions, including simple diagrams
• Work independently and perform well with group-assigned tasks
• Work late evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours as required
• Maintain good communication and personal relations skills
• Demonstrate computer literacy
• Use two-way radios

Qualifications

• No prior experience or training required
• Previous custodial experience preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Schedule

Late evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday working hours as required.
