Custodial Worker

About the Role

This position involves performing housekeeping duties, including cleaning restrooms, classrooms, offices, common-use areas, and carpet and tile floors in accordance with APPA cleaning standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, kitchens, conference rooms, banquet rooms, large assembly rooms, auditoriums, halls, common areas, stairways, elevators, building entrance areas, windows, doors, and display cases.
• Perform additional floor cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Assist with special set-up requests, including graduations and events (providing manpower during and cleaning up after events).
• Complete work orders, receive and deliver supplies, and assist other departments as needed.
• Pick up materials from vendors.
• Serve as a Tier 2 respondent for designated campus emergencies and events; return to campus when directed during declared emergencies.

Requirements

• Completion of ninth (9th) grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
• Some positions may require possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to the type of vehicle operated.
• Must pass a background check; some roles may also require a credit check.
• Designated as a Responsible Employee under Title IX; must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, or child sexual abuse to the University’s Title IX Administrator or divisional Title IX Coordinator.
