Custodial Supervisor - Overnight Shift (10:00pm-6:30am, Mon-Fri), Campus Facilities Management

About the role

As a UMKC employee within the Custodial Supervisor position, you will belong to an engaged and diverse campus community and interact with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds each day. You will work across the Hospital Hill campus and have the opportunity to broaden your skillsets with the Campus Facilities Department while working side-by-side with other custodial supervisors and team members. The role involves working in a wide variety of buildings, ranging from over 100 years old to just under 2 years old, including iconic buildings with great history in Kansas City, such as Scofield Hall.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and assists custodial staff in general cleaning processes and procedures, the operation of cleaning machines, and the correct use of cleaning chemicals and materials.
• Conducts daily inspections of buildings and key control.
• Responds to campus emergencies, whenever and wherever they may occur.
• Initiates and prepares forms and/or records, such as timesheets, inventory records, requisitions, and employee time off requests.
• Controls the issuance and receipt of cleaning materials and supplies for assigned workforce, monitors budgetary expenditures for materials and equipment.
• Supervises the preparation and set-up of equipment and facilities for special events.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervision

• Received: Receives instruction, guidance, and/or direction from more senior-level roles. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager CSM Operations (CFM).
• Exercised: Provides day-to-day operational management to a team of up to 8–15 members and possesses formal supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities are acquired.
• A valid Missouri driver’s license must be held and maintained by incumbents in this position.

Pay

The anticipated hiring range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour, with a shift differential of $1.00 per hour for eligible shifts. Salary is determined by factors including education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
