Custodial Supervisor (Night)
About the role
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning, and supervising the work of Night Custodians on multiple shifts engaged in cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance tasks. This role oversees all evening and night custodial work activity in the UC Irvine's Student Center and associated facilities.
Responsibilities
- Plan, assign, and supervise the work of Night Custodians
- Ensure assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner
- Provide oversight for all evening and night custodial work activity in the Student Center and associated facilities
- Make ordinary decisions and plan work schedules and methods
Requirements
- Knowledge and experience to perform typical and specialized cleaning of recreation facilities, restrooms, wood floors, rubber floors, and carpeted spaces
- Knowledge of standard custodial practices
- Knowledge of floor scrubbers, vacuums, carpet machines, and other mechanical cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of appropriate hazardous waste disposal policies and procedures
- Ability to work independent of direct supervision
- Ability to utilize computers for work - email, training programs, researching University materials
- Ability to give and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to learn cleaning requirements of new flooring and finishing materials, as well as conference equipment
- Ability to supervise the work of others
- Ability to train and review other personnel
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent certification preferred
- 3-5 years Supervisor role in custodial and/or general oversight of staff
Skills
- Utilizing standard and specialized custodial equipment

Pay
The expected pay range for this recruitment is $57,100-$70,200 annually.
Special Conditions
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends if needed
- Must accept a Monday - Friday work week beginning at approximately 6:30pm and ending at 3:00am, including occasional overtime, and monthly weekend assignments
- Must possess a valid California Class C driver’s license and a safe driving record
