Position Summary

The Cultivation Technician I provides manual labor to support the operations within the Cultivation department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. This role primarily supports the flower department with day-to-day plant maintenance tasks and sanitation responsibilities. As determined by business need, the technician may also provide support in veg, mom, and propagation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical, repetitive agricultural work following directions and instructions from supervisors
  • Repetitive climbing on a ladder or working on an elevated platform
  • Netting and trellising flower plants
  • Loading plants and placing emitters
  • Tucking and spreading plants as directed
  • Pruning and defoliating plants
  • Proper use of PPE in accordance with company guidelines
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and bag excess plant material, leaving the grow room clean after maintenance
  • Clean, sanitize, and store all grow room tools and equipment after use
  • Perform various manual cross-department job duties as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA, and WV)
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily
  • Able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)
  • Able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing for extended periods, maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
  • Must use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks; entire shift may be spent standing
  • Requires repetitive hand, wrist, finger, and elbow movement
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids for reading, viewing a computer terminal, and inspecting small parts/details
  • Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (moderate noise)
