About The Job
As a Culinary Specialist, you’ll be in charge of preparing and serving large-scale meals comparable to any major restaurant so that Soldiers can sit down and enjoy a hot meal in between training or mission deployments. You’ll be responsible for the preparation and service of meals both in the field and at home stations, as well as ordering, inspecting food supplies, and keeping the kitchen safe and sanitary.
Position requirements
- Bake, fry, braise, boil, simmer, steam and saute as prescribed by Army recipes.
- Operate, maintain and clean field kitchen equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance on garrison and field kitchen equipment.
General Qualifications
- Must have an interest in joining the Army.
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident alien.
- 17 to 34 years old.
- Healthy and in good physical condition.
- In good moral standing with no felony-level offenses.
- Must be able to meet height/weight standards.
- No major medical procedures that would prohibit you from service.
- No tattoos on the hands, neck, or face.
- Pass (ASVAB) Requirements: 10 weeks of Basic Training, 9 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, 85ASVAB Score: Operators & Food (OF).
- Must be able to meet ASVAB requirements.

- 28 Nationally Recognized Certifications Available.

- Up to $20K enlistment bonuses.

Education
- The Post-9/11 GI Bill: Provides up to full college tuition, as well as money for housing and books.
- The Montgomery GI Bill – Selected Reserve: Helps members of the Army Reserve pay for education benefits for a maximum of 36 months, in return for a six-year service commitment.
- Student Loan Repayment Program: Enlisted Army Reserve Soldiers can combine their cash accession bonus with a Student Loan repayment agreement. In-demand jobs can qualify for up to $50,000 to repay your current outstanding student loan debt, and up to $30,000 is available for all other jobs.
