About the role

The Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is responsible for leading the culinary team in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the store operates smoothly. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for food.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the culinary team to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Manage inventory and ordering processes to maintain stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Train and develop culinary staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a retail or hospitality setting.
  • Proven ability to manage a team effectively.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and handling practices.
  • Experience with inventory management systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid food handler’s license.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment and procedures.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
