Position: 1.00 FTE Career and Technical Education Teacher (Health Careers)

Location: Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center (FLTCC), Stanley, NY 14561

Salary Range: $52,341 - $70,000 based on experience and demonstrated abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality instruction to secondary students in a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking, a high-level of engagement and eagerness to continue to learn and grow;
• Work collaboratively with other teachers and community members to ensure continued learning of relevant skills and authentic application of those skills;
• Support students as they develop a strong work ethic, pride in their work and the foundational skills employers have identified;
• Willingness to develop/grow/promote the program to include all learners;
• Differentiate instruction to ensure all students experience success.

Requirements

• Must hold a commitment to promoting equity, practicing cultural responsiveness, and creating inclusive environments.
• Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Should meet NYS Teaching Certification requirements in Health Occupations-Nurse's Assisting 7-12 or be able to meet requirements.
• Requirements for the Transitional A certificate are listed on the homepage of the NYS Education Department Teaching Certification under "Certification Requirements" in the category of "Career and Technical" Teacher (Health Sciences).
• Two (2) to four (4) years of occupational experience (full-time) or hold an approved industry-related credential is required.

Qualifications

Some teaching or training experience is preferred.
