About the role
The successful candidate will teach Health Occupations courses at Burns High School. This position is licensed and part of the Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
- Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, projects, and exams.
- Collaborate with other teachers to provide a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate records and report grades in accordance with school policies.
- Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Engage in community outreach to promote health careers and recruit potential students.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license in Health Occupations.
- Experience in teaching Health Occupations or related field preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Excellent classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of current health care trends and technologies.
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs.
- Pass a background check.
Skills
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
