CT Technologist

This position works under the supervision of leadership in various clinical environments, such as hospitals or diagnostic imaging centers, and actively participates in outstanding customer service while maintaining respectful relationships.

Responsibilities

• Interpret a physician's instructions.
• Screen patients for safety.
• Explain CT procedures to patients.
• Prepare patients for procedures.
• Select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting a CT scanner.
• View images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
• Review and complete patient exam and charges within the radiology information system.
• Prepare and administer contrast agents to obtain images.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completion of Radiologic Technology program (Required).
• 3 years of experience in CT (Preferred).
• Registered Technologist (R.T.) certification (Required upon hire).
• Computed Tomography (CT) certification (Required upon hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required upon hire).
• Must be able to travel between system facilities and off-site locations as needed.

• Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Inputting data, calibrating equipment, answering telephone, speaking clearly, manipulating small items, fine motor skills, knowledge of body mechanics and CPR.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication skills and ability to interact with patients, staff, visitors, and physicians. Must work well as a team member.
• Essential Physical Requirements: Walking, pushing, pulling, heavy lifting, restraining, standing, kneeling, moving equipment, speaking.
• Essential Mental Abilities: Manipulate numbers, interpret data, explain and assess, adaptability, reading, and organizational skills.
• Essential Sensory Requirements: Visual skills, hearing, and speaking.
• Exposure to Hazards: Radiation, body fluids, needle sticks, hazardous material.
• Caregivers must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in all age groups.
