Responsibilities

• Imaging:
  • Provide quality images with accuracy and efficiency, utilizing optimal skills and knowledge of all equipment.
  • Position patients for diagnostic imaging according to department procedures, training, and machine requirements.
  • Operate imaging equipment, determine and set exposure factors, and use computer image processing to select and optimize images.
  • Process and present images and related patient information to radiologists for diagnosis.
  • Assist with patient transport using standard procedures.
• Documentation:
  • Gather complete documentation of all pertinent information to ensure accurate and timely service.
  • Identify patients by checking ID, full name, and medical record number.
  • Review patient charts and orders to ensure correct examinations.
  • Label images with demographic, position, and other necessary documentation.
  • Log activities, gather charging information, and charge exams as required.
  • Perform quality control and assurance, record results, and report equipment variances.
  • Perform medication reconciliation for patients receiving IV contrast media.
• Personal & Patient Care and Safety:
  • Protect patients and others using proper machine settings and radiation safety standards.
  • Practice universal precautions, blood and body fluid precautions, and sterile techniques.
  • Communicate and apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology to ensure appropriate care for patients of all ages.
  • Maintain awareness of patient status and take appropriate actions to meet their needs.
  • Start IVs and administer medications under the direction of a licensed independent practitioner (LIP).

  • Handle stressful situations in ways that promote positive outcomes.
  • Stay current with education in all specialty areas through journals, books, in-services, and seminars.

Qualifications

• Education: As required to obtain ARRT certification.
• Experience: One year of previous experience in CT preferred.
• Skills:
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems.
  • Competency in CT procedures and patient care.
• Licensure:
  • National registration with ARRT in Radiology (ARRT-R) or Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) required.
  • CT certification (ARRT-CT) required within six months.
  • Current state license in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine (Oregon or Washington, as applicable).
  • AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Pay

USD $44.17 - USD $63.16 /Hr.
