About the role
The Special Imaging Supervisor oversees the delivery and quality of imaging services, ensuring timely, accurate, and cost-efficient exams and patient preparation. They also comply with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the delivery and quality of imaging services.
- Ensures timely, accurate, and cost-efficient exams and patient preparation.
- Complies with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs procedures as needed due to workload or complexity.
- Schedules, monitors, evaluates, and modifies staffing patterns to provide services in assigned areas.
- Interviews, counsels, and completes performance evaluations.
- Trains new staff and ensures all registrations and certifications are current.
- Keeps them on file and up to date.
- Promotes a culture of service excellence in imaging by partnering with management.
- Communicates service excellence, patient-centeredness expectations, and customer satisfaction survey results.
- Holds self and staff accountable for service excellence.
- Facilitates reward and recognition in the imaging sections of Radiology.
- Acts as a Radiology liaison to other departments.
- Develops cooperative relationships with physicians and medical departments to exchange information.
- Implements solutions to problems.
- Assists in ensuring the imaging sections comply with JCAHO, TDH standards, and other accrediting bodies.
- Identify patient service needs using AIDET when talking to patients.
- Ensure the correct exam is performed on the correct patient.
- Establish personal rapport with potential and actual patients and others who know about the service needs.
- Coordinates and runs groups on patient safety, customer service, and performance improvement.
- Focuses on the environment of care, employee engagement, and physician engagement.
- Participates in mutual governance, department, hospital, or professional organizations and committees.
- This includes LEAN initiatives, 5S projects, and inter-departmental committees.
- Involves any professional organization participation and QC assurance with radiologists.
Requirements
- 3 Years of Experience
- MRT from Texas Medical Board required.
- ARRT-Bone Density (ARRT-BD), ARRT-CT Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT), ARRT-M Mammography (ARRT-M), ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R), ARRT-VI Interventional Rad (ARRT-VI), Cert Nuclear Med Tech (CNMT): Must have one of the following: ARRT-BD, ARRT-CT, ARRT-M, ARRT-R, ARRT-VI, or CNMT. Certified by ARRT or ARDMS.

- Able to perform high-quality advanced imaging procedures according to exam protocol.
- Comply with System and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
- Explain the procedure to put patients at ease.
- Able to perform tasks exclusively without need for routine oversight.
- Able to stay calm and helpful during stress and take reasonable steps to resolve issues.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times and providing courteous service.
- Remain professional, review patient satisfaction scores, and develop action plans when needed.
- Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, education, and skills for appropriate care of newborns, pediatric, young adults, adults, and geriatrics.
- Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
- Able to create tactical outcomes for work allocation and direction of supervised employees using established guidelines, policies, or procedures.
- Able to make effective hiring and termination recommendations.
- Able to train, and evaluate performance of supervised staff.
- General computer skills include Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
- Able to take call, if required.
