Responsibilities

  • Produces images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes.
  • Performs diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations.

  • Ensures patient comfort and understanding of ordered exam.
  • Provides appropriate patient care.
  • Verifies patient identification accurately.
  • Assists surgeon/radiologist with surgery/special procedures.
  • Directs radiographic equipment for optimal visualization of anatomy.
  • Responds to pages in a timely manner.
  • Maintains appropriate par levels of supplies and communicates to appropriate ordering personnel.
  • Documents medications and allergies.
  • Uses Powerscribe.
  • Participates in Quality & Safety QA.
  • Provides and monitors “on the job training” per Methodist College Standards.
  • Maintains professional and courteous relationships with students and instructors.
  • Follows department Policy & Procedures Manual.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
  • One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
  • Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers.
  • Analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
  • Adept at working with pediatric patients.
  • Strong knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.

Schedule

Night Shift; Sat-Monday 7:00p-7:00a; Required to work a holiday and call rotation. (2) Shifts will be located at Methodist Women's Hospital and (1) shift will be at Nebraska Methodist Hospital each week.
