Job Summary
Location: Methodist Women's Hospital
Address: 707 N. 190th Plaza - Elkhorn, NE
Work Schedule: 8:30a-7p, weekdays - Rotating weekends (11a-9p), holidays and call shifts
Responsibilities
- Produces images of the human body for medical diagnostic purposes.
- Performs diagnostic and Computed Tomography (CT) imaging examinations.
- Provides appropriate patient care as outlined in the "Age specific criteria."
- Ensures patient comfort and understanding of ordered exam.
- Directs radiographic equipment to ensure optimal visualization of anatomy.
- Assists surgeon/radiologist with surgery/special procedures.
- Verifies patient identification accurately.
- Cleans and disinfects equipment at the conclusion of each case.
- Partners with students for clinical instruction.
- Maintains awareness of ongoing procedures and assists co-workers in unassigned areas.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved American Medical Association School of Radiologic Technology required.
- One year experience in CT or a graduate from an approved CT/MRI program preferred.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Radiography (R) required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registered in Computed Tomography (CT) required.
- Current Medical Radiographer license for work state required.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and interact with patients and family members as well as hospital personnel and coworkers.
- Analytical skills necessary to compute exposure factors and the ability to perform numerous tasks at once.
- Adept at working with pediatric patients.
- Strong knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy for CT exams and abnormalities of exams is essential.
