CSS Attorney III - Upstate Region
Job Responsibilities
The Child Support Services County Attorney III is responsible for preparing Child Support Cases for Family Court, performing activities in Court, following up on these cases, including parent locate and processing of interstate cases, providing general child support services to clients, representing out-of-state petitioners in reciprocal support suits, negotiating complex settlements of Child Support cases, preparing and monitoring pleadings, and appearing at Court or other judicial hearings.
Handles appeals resulting from child support cases. Ensures positive or appropriate customer service delivery to clients, the public, and co-workers as an integral requirement. Assists Regional Director and regional case manager supervisors in training new attorneys and case managers. Advises regional case managers in assigned counties. Performs related duties as required, to include Red Cross or emergency shelter duty as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
- A Juris Doctor Degree or its equivalent from an accredited law school and experience as a practicing attorney.
- Necessary Special Requirement: Must be a member of the SC BAR.
- Experience As a DSS Attorney Preferred.
