Responsibilities
- Activities related to CSP and OR inventory, documentation and maintenance
- Ordering, receiving, returning, storing and distribution of surgical supplies
- Collaborates with staff and CSP and OR Management regarding supply/instrument/equipment procurement and repair
- Assists with budget preparation and budget issues
- Assists as needed in the coordination and procurement of material, equipment, and services
- Monitors inventory and availability of routine and special order supplies
- Direct billing of implants
- Expedites, follows up, and reconciles order and invoice discrepancies with vendors, Accounting, and department personnel
- Affirms accountability for items received being delivered to the appropriate person
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal departments and suppliers
- Provides services in a cost-effective manner
- Creates purchase orders for stock and consignment items
- Ensures Sterile Room personnel check deliveries for accuracy
- Searches continually for areas of price reduction and/or cost containment through the use of vendor selection and process improvement
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Some college education and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Good work and attendance record
- Keyboard experience and basic computer skills
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider training required
- Able to take call, work weekends, and holidays
- Able to work flexible scheduled hours
- Able to read, write legibly, speak and comprehend English
