About the role
Provide leadership and technical knowledge to the product support sales team by managing the generation of accurate and timely quotations for all models of Gulfstream aircraft with an emphasis on the usage of standard products and tools. Support direct reports and work closely with all worldwide Product Support business units to assist in closing sales and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Unique Skills
- Strong understanding of the installation and modification of Avionics Systems in Gulfstream aircraft
- Demonstrated knowledge of quoting and estimating processes related to Gulfstream Avionics System installations and modifications
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and cross-functional teams
- Leadership capability, including the ability to guide, mentor, and develop a team of technically skilled quoting professionals
- Experience prioritizing workload, coordinating team activities, and ensuring accuracy and consistency in outputs
- Ability to drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, tools, and team performance
- A&P licenses preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and assistance to direct reports to resolve any issues in order to consistently provide customers with complete, accurate, and competitive proposals
- Lead discipline groups to coordinate and host meetings, resolve issues, and promote teamwork
- Act as delegated authority during direct manager's absence and perform management duties as required
- Ensure standard product offerings are identified, submitted, maintained, and/or implemented into daily quoting activities
- Work closely with the sales team and new business development to identify and promote new programs to be offered to the marketplace
- Coordinate closely with all site management to represent the Sales Operations department professionally and collaborate with other departments to improve overall business teamwork and cooperation
- Work closely with site VP/General Managers to ensure a positive business rapport between the Sales Operations department and all other internal support groups
- Maintain professional relationships with the worldwide Product Support Regional Sales Team, including Sales Directors, and resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Ensure adherence to all Gulfstream quoting processes, procedures, and guidelines
- Travel as required to support direct reports or other projects
- Lead projects that improve the quoting and sales process
- Stay updated on inspection requirements, aircraft installations/modifications, FAA regulatory issues, latest vendor products, and certification requirements to facilitate accurate product offerings
- Manage numerous complex projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency
- Work with Specialty Sales Managers (Avionics and/or Interior Specialists) to develop new programs to maintain a competitive edge
- Maintain consistency between all site quotation groups when compiling proposals for new programs
- Work with Facility Management and Sales Management to improve business processes
- Attend trade shows, OEM seminars, and other industry events to stay abreast of the industry
- Work overtime as required by workload volume or travel requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
- 8 years in aircraft sales, design, manufacturing, or service and support, including 5 years of program management experience (supervisory experience, complex program management, and/or technical experience)
- Must be computer literate and proficient
- Pilot's license and/or A&P license certification preferred
- Basic selling and negotiating skills along with a professional demeanor
- Ability to understand strategic priorities, financial data, and problem-solving
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
