Job Summary
This is an opportunity for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join the Advanced Practice Provider team in the Department of Anesthesiology at our tertiary care, Level II Trauma center. Under our Anesthesia Care Team model, we provide anesthesia services for patients requiring surgery and any other procedures requiring an anesthetic. This position will provide care in our downtown Tacoma location, St. Joseph Medical Center.
Responsibilities
- Meticulously provide safe general and regional anesthetic experiences for assigned patients, working under the guidance of the attending surgeon.
- Demonstrate exceptional expertise in anesthesia administration and management.
- Ensure rigorous adherence to Surgical Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Proactively foster teamwork within the Operating Room and across departments to achieve optimal patient outcomes and efficient surgical operations.
- Maintain rigorous adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Manage anesthesia supplies and equipment in the Operating Room.
- Promote teamwork with Operating Room personnel, physicians, and other departments.
Requirements
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse License and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License.
- Certification as a CRNA through the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
- Ability to obtain a DEA with full prescriptive authority needed for specific practice.
- Strong knowledge of current anesthesia practices and procedures.
- Aptitude for detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately in stressful or emergent situations.
Preferred
- 2+ years experience following training.
- EPIC experience.
