About the role

This position serves as the lead technician for all CPG mission-critical mechanical services and maintenance under contract. The Critical Systems Technician III, HVAC is responsible for monitoring compliance with contractual commitments and providing guidance, leadership, and expertise in the installation, service, maintenance, and operation of mission-critical data center mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform all responsibilities of an HVAC Tech 2.
Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, routine, and emergency repairs without supervision on all HVAC equipment, including but not limited to:
- Air and water-cooled reciprocating chillers
- Centrifugal and screw package chillers
- Natural gas boilers and unit heaters
- Electric duct heaters
- Cooling towers
- Pneumatic, DDC, and Variable Frequency Drive controls
- HVAC air distribution systems, AHUs, FCUs, fans, and other air distribution devices
- Various types of water pumps used in the HVAC industry
Maintain, upgrade, and back up Building Automation Software as required.
Respond to after-hours calls as needed.
Supervise and mentor technicians of lower grade levels while improving your own technical skills through experience and literature.
Perform on-call after-hours assignments.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Ensure regular and reliable attendance.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Able to obtain security clearance (preferred).
High School Diploma or GED required.
Successful completion of a basic air conditioning theory class.
Understanding of proper use of HVAC diagnostic tools and instruments.
Experience with DDC, pneumatic, and variable frequency drive controls.
Minimum of 7 years of large commercial HVAC service experience (8 years preferred).
Must satisfactorily pass or complete any required client background checks or training.
Proficient in Microsoft Office or related software.

Certifications and Licenses

Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Certification (required).
Current/active Arizona Journeyman HVAC license.
OSHA Certification.
Clear and valid Virginia/Maryland driver’s license.
