About the role
The Critical Facilities Manager (CFM) oversees all aspects of data center management and operations, ensuring 100% availability and minimizing risks. They build a skilled team and manage power and cooling capacities, responding to emergencies and managing customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage physical assets and infrastructure equipment
- Build and manage a team of technicians and junior managers
- Monitor and resolve electrical, mechanical, and fire protection system issues
- Communicate issues to management and customers
- On-call 24x7 for data center emergencies
- Manage customer relationships and facility-related issues
- Onboard new sites and ensure compliance with T5 standards
- Coach, discipline, and separate staff members
- Develop and maintain operating procedures and documentation
- Audit CMMS databases and enforce best practices
- Manage access controls and coordinate site tours
- Plan and execute annual budgets and manage invoices
- Train and oversee employees
- Manage sub-contractors and special projects
- Support and coordinate with other T5 groups
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
- 5-7+ years of experience in mission-critical environments
- Direct management of non-exempt shift-based employees
- Technical school with emphasis on mission-critical operations or relevant military experience (US Navy preferred)
