Critical Facilities Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

The Critical Facilities Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing maintenance activities, capacity planning, asset lifecycle tracking, and operational scheduling within the Core Scientific environments. This role ensures that critical infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, cooling, networking, and compute resources are maintained and upgraded with minimal impact to operations while supporting high availability, performance, and reliability requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for critical data center infrastructure.
• Coordinate maintenance activities for electrical, mechanical, cooling, power, fire suppression, and BMS systems.
• Ensure maintenance windows align with operational requirements and customer commitments.
• Track maintenance completion and maintain accurate documentation.
• Monitor and forecast infrastructure capacity, including power and cooling utilization.
• Support capacity planning, infrastructure expansions, and future growth initiatives.
• Coordinate planned changes through formal change management processes.
• Review MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs, and participate in risk assessments and operational readiness reviews.
• Maintain asset inventories, lifecycle records, warranty tracking, and replacement schedules.
• Support capital planning, budgeting, and infrastructure upgrade initiatives.
• Coordinate vendor activities and ensure compliance with safety, security, and operational requirements.
• Manage work orders within CMMS/CCMS systems and validate service completion.
• Generate and analyze KPIs related to maintenance compliance, asset health, capacity utilization, change success, and service availability.
• Support audits, compliance reporting, outage planning, recovery exercises, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Assist with operational readiness and deployment of new infrastructure projects.
• Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree, technical certification, military service, or trade experience preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in data center operations, facilities planning, asset management, critical infrastructure, maintenance planning, or capacity management.
• Experience supporting mission-critical, Tier III/IV, and/or HPC environments preferred.
• Basic knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling, and CMMS/CCMS work order systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate effectively, and maintain a customer-focused approach.

Preferred Certifications: CDCP (Certified Data Centre Professional), DCCA (Data Center Certified Associate), PMP (Project Management Professional), CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), ITIL Foundation Certification

Work Environment

This job operates in a data center, office, and shop environment. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment such as ladders, scissor lifts, forklifts, power tools, voltmeters, etc. While performing these duties the employee will be exposed to hot and cold environments.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time, onsite position. General hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Location: On Site, near Miami, FL, Austin, TX, Pecos, TX, Denton, TX, Muskogee, OK, Grand Forks, ND, Calvert City, KY, Marble, NC, Dalton, GA or Auburn, AL. Occasional travel may be required as needed.
