Critical Care Physician/Surgeon - Assistant or Associate Professor

We seek a board-certified academic critical care physician/surgeon to join the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Utah. The successful candidate will qualify at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and demonstrate excellent clinical skills, along with strong interests in teaching and research.

About the role

The selected physician will join a team of critical care physicians and cardiothoracic surgeons, providing care for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. Primary board specialty may include Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care, or Surgery.

Responsibilities

• Care for the full spectrum of cardiothoracic surgery patients, including thoracic transplantation and mechanical circulatory support
• Assist in the care of patients within cardiology and vascular surgery
• Participate in the education of students, residents, and fellows
• Engage in clinical, outcomes, or translational research

Requirements

• Board certification in a relevant specialty (Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Pulmonary/Critical Care, or Surgery)
• Qualification for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
• Strong interest in teaching and research
