Responsibilities
Nursing faculty teach in the classroom and conduct clinical teaching.
Research and publications are expected for tenure and promotion.
Other areas of responsibility include curriculum development;
participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, such as, grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- Doctorate in Nursing or other related area.
- Must have expertise in Medical/Surgical/Critical Care Nursing.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates with didactic experience in the main area of teaching at the collegiate level.
- A strong, demonstrated record of clinical expertise, experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes is required.
- Expertise in critical care throughout the lifespan is required.
- Must hold a current or be eligible for an unencumbered license to practice nursing in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
Qualifications
- Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation preferred.
- Evidence of an active record of scholarship and service at the program, department and university levels preferred.
