Assistant/Associate/Professor Critical Care Anesthesiologist
Department of Anesthesiology at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont / University of Vermont Medical Center, in affiliation with the University of Vermont Medical Group, is seeking a Board certified or Board eligible Attending Anesthesiologist with fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine.
About the role
This is a full-time clinical scholar pathway faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level based at the University of Vermont Medical Center. The position involves a mix of all types of anesthesia, including coverage of the Surgical Intensive Care and Cardiothoracic Surgery ICU Services, pediatrics (older than 3), neurosurgery, and obstetrics. The ideal candidate will support teaching, research, clinical, and administrative missions.
Responsibilities include providing clinical anesthesiology care in the main Operating Rooms and ambulatory areas, with a mix of solo practice and supervision of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), Anesthesiology Assistants (CAAs), and residents. The role also involves direct anesthesia care in other critical care areas of the medical center.
UVMMC is a busy academic hospital with a Level-1 trauma center and serves as the only location for tertiary referrals for Vermont and northern upstate New York. The department is large and collegial, consisting of Anesthesiologists, Nurse Anesthetists, Anesthesiologist Assistants, a residency program, a pain fellowship, and nurse practitioners.
