Critical Care Anesthesiologist - Associate/Full Professor

About the Role

The Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of critical care anesthesia. Applicants in mid-career are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
  • ABA certification in anesthesiology or status as a candidate in the examination system
  • Ability to obtain a Pennsylvania license
  • Expertise in critical care anesthesia

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Instruction of medical students, residents, and fellows rotating through the operating rooms and wards of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC), and Pennsylvania Hospital (PAH)
  • Participation in lectures, small groups, workshops, and/or simulation sessions

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provision of critical care services at HUP, PPMC, and PAH
  • Provision of clinical anesthesia services at HUP or PPMC
  • Opportunities to participate in innovative critical care programs, including tele-critical care and mobile ECMO

Additional Information

Our intensivists usually have one "home" unit and may rotate through one or two additional ICUs depending on the number of ICU weeks worked. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
