Critical Care Physician

About the role

We are seeking a Board-certified or board-eligible critical care physician to join our dedicated team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Our hospital provides 24/7 on-site coverage in a 20-bed medical and 18-bed surgical ICU, serving patients across various specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the ICU, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Work within a closed ICU unit, coordinating with subspecialty back-up, rapid response teams, and code blue teams for efficient patient management.
• Utilize EPIC and our internal informatics platform for streamlined communication and patient data management.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in critical care medicine (MD or DO).
• Ability to obtain a Missouri license.
• A strong commitment to excellence in clinical service, with strong problem-solving abilities essential for the ICU setting.
• Proficiency in all technical skills required in critical care.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Schedule

Full-time physicians work an average of 15 monthly shifts, typically in block shifts of 4 to 5 days at a time. We collaborate to manage the schedule as equitably as possible, ensuring intensivists achieve an outstanding work/family life balance.
