Critical Care Float Pool - Travel Registered Nurse

About the Role

Seeking an experienced ICU nurse for a travel assignment specializing in critical care, including ECMO, CVICU/CTICU/CCU, and trauma Level 2 units. The role involves providing bedside care for adult and geriatric patients and managing multiple support devices such as ECMO, Impella, IABP, and LVAD. Nurses may float across various UCSF facilities and departments, including ED and PACU, to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive ICU patient care, including advanced support devices.
• Float across units and locations as needed.
• Maintain compliance with certifications and licensure requirements.
• Participate in flexible 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night).
• Complete pre-employment modules and submit required documentation promptly.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years recent ICU experience, including ECMO within the last year.
• Critical care float pool experience required; travel experience within 5 years.
• BSN degree and California nursing license (renewal initiated if expiring soon).
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale.
• Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VA/VV ECMO, CRRT, heart and lung transplant recovery, and management of multiple support devices.

Additional Details

• Auto-offer process with minimal pre-screening.
• Must be able to float to various units and UCSF campuses.
• Submit all RTO (Return to Office) requests at the time of offer.
• Shift schedule based on operational needs, with potential holiday time off.
