Crisis Worker, Mobile Crisis Response - Part-Time Sundays

About the role

Thresholds’ Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is dedicated to providing services and supports to individuals experiencing mental health crises. Our Crisis Workers respond to these crises in the Uptown, Lakeview, and North Center communities, offering an alternative to hospitalization or police response.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls to our crisis hotline and conduct a safety assessment to determine the appropriate response.
• Connect callers to appropriate services or providers, or provide face-to-face interventions with a Peer Engagement Specialist.
• Assist individuals in crisis with the least restrictive intervention possible, ranging from panic attack management to hospitalization.
• Distribute basic necessities to individuals in crisis, such as first aid items, water, or warm clothes.
• Offer follow-up services and document the services provided after responding to a crisis.
• Participate in professional development through self-directed projects and community outreach efforts during downtime between calls.

Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods and occasionally traverse long distances and ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (preferred).
• Must be available to work assigned schedules: Sunday 10:45pm to 7:15am.

• Strong writing skills.
• Good time management and organization skills.

Skills

• High school diploma or GED certificate and 5 years of supervised clinical experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and 2 years of supervised clinical experience.
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
