About the role

We are currently seeking Behavioral Health Professionals or Licensed Mental Health Clinicians for full-time Mobile Crisis Management (MCM) positions serving Buncombe, Madison, and Yancey counties. Applicants must meet criteria for "ParaProfessional" status, live in the vicinity of one of these three counties, and have a minimum of one year of crisis experience (ACTT, IIHS, inpatient treatment facility, or other service providing 24/7 crisis response duties).

As part of the MCM team, you will provide crisis response services in a variety of settings (community, doctor's offices, schools, provider offices, etc.) with the goal of helping individuals in crisis avoid inpatient hospitalization. We serve individuals of all ages and disabilities, though most commonly we work with adults in a mental health or substance use crisis.

This position consists of 11-hour on-call shifts from your home or the community. You will be available to respond to a crisis event for the duration of your shift but are free to do other activities when not engaged in MCM duties. This is not an office-based position; it operates on an on-call basis from your home or a location of your choice within the county. Staff are guaranteed 40 hours of pay per week regardless of hours worked.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and revise the Person-Centered Plan in conjunction with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Facilitate relationships and serve as a link between the company, parents, guardians, local agencies, and the community.
• Minimize the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that interfere with the recipient’s daily living and personal development by providing supportive counseling.
• Support the client in the development of various skill-building activities, including daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger management.
• Perform case management functions, including linking and arranging for services and referrals.
• Work closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication, provide feedback, standardize procedures, and expedite PCP implementation.
• Monitor utilization of services to ensure they are effective, appropriate, and within the limits set forth in both rule, PCP, and service authorization.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Minimum of one year of documented experience with the population to be served or with the type of service being provided (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Pre-employment screening, including a complete criminal background check, registry checks (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities), drug testing, education verification, and credentialing based on position requirements.
• Proof of employment history or references (if required).
• For positions requiring driving: proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and a vehicle if required for providing transportation for individuals.

Pay

$22.00–$23.00 per hour.

$1000 sign-on bonus, paid out per agency policy.

Schedule

12-hour on-call shifts, 9:00 AM–8:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
