CRISIS RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST **Litteral House**

Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 11:00pm – 7:00am. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Bilingual pay of $125 per paycheck is offered for threshold languages to serve monolingual clients.

Pay

Pay rates for Union positions are set in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Each position has six steps, from Step 1 (entry level) to Step 6 (15 years of employment). Union staff are promoted from Step 1 to Step 2 upon their one-year anniversary.

• Current Step 1 rate: $35.49/hr
• Current Step 6 rate: $39.19/hr

Shift differentials apply as follows (only the highest differential applies at a time):

• 6.25% additional pay for overnight (NOC) shift from 11 pm to 7 am
• 4.75% additional pay for evening shift from 5:30 pm to 10:59 pm
• 4.75% additional pay for weekend shifts from 12:01 am on Saturday through 11:59 pm on Sunday

A competitive package of employee benefits is offered for 30 to 40-hour week positions. Employees receive a defined contribution of up to $15,433.08 per year (prorated for part-time) to purchase benefits through a cafeteria plan. Unused funds are paid as taxable earnings.

Responsibilities

• Provide integrated, recovery-oriented, rehabilitation, and case management services to individuals in psychiatric crisis in a community-based residential setting
• Implement individual service and treatment plans
• Facilitate psychiatric consultations and group sessions by attending meetings, taking notes, and scheduling clients
• Provide medical follow-up assistance, including coordinating care with physicians and assisting with medical issues, schedules, and transportation
• Facilitate client insurance benefits to expedite treatment and payment; determine coverage status and eligibility; assist with benefits applications and liaise with carriers
• Provide benefits training and assistance to clients, including prescription plans and work re-entry support
• Develop and run groups focused on behavioral health, symptom management, and relapse prevention
• Coordinate care with other programs, case managers, and external agencies; refer clients to non-Momentum therapists as appropriate
• Liaise with probation agents, conservators, and case managers regarding client admissions and behavioral changes
• Advocate for clients with outside agencies and educate them on community resources and independent living
• Facilitate housing interviews and work with clients’ families on behavioral health education and transitions
• Provide counseling, crisis intervention, and conflict resolution; monitor independent living skills and stability
• Identify, assess, and respond to crisis situations; set clear limits to ensure safety
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning, health and safety education, and medication information
• Encourage self-empowerment, creativity, and understanding of diagnoses; provide client-centered counseling
• Participate in management of team/program resources to meet client needs
• Complete clinical records, documentation, and administrative tasks, including admissions, discharges, and medication management
• Oversee medication documentation, inventory, prescriptions, and issuances
• Perform general office work, including communications, timecard processing, and transportation of clients or supplies
• Provide on-call and floor coverage; participate in after-hours rotation and shift exchange debriefings
• Perform First Aid in emergencies; assist clients with Restricted Health Condition plans
• Assist with housekeeping activities, including cleaning, cooking, and laundry
• Complete hourly tracking and other assigned tasks

Other Duties

• Collect reports and data; send daily census reports to Central Intake
• Audit and review documents; complete monthly medical record reviews
• Attend and participate in staff, program, agency, and community meetings and trainings; conduct trainings as needed
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements; maintain clean and well-kept program facilities
• Work evening, overnight, and/or holiday shifts as required

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent plus five years’ related experience; OR
• Associate’s degree plus three years’ related experience; OR
• Psych Tech/LVN plus three years’ related experience; OR
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree plus two years’ related experience
• Additional full-time experience may include:
  • Experience in a behavioral health setting (essential)
  • One year in a residential behavioral health setting for Crisis Residential Programs (essential)
  • Experience with high symptom acuity (desired)
  • Eligibility for MHRS certificate (desired)
  • Volunteer, internship, or personal experience in the behavioral health system (desired)
  • Experience working with individuals who have abused substances (desired)
• First Aid Certification or completion within 30 days of hire (essential)
• Certification in writing 5150 holds or ability to obtain within six months (desired)
• Meet continuing education and recertification standards, including 20 hours of directly related professional training (essential)
• Proven typing speed of 30 net wpm (essential); 40 net wpm (desired)
• Computer literacy; ability to use MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Windows-based databases (essential); familiarity with UNIX-based databases (desired)
