Crisis & Referral Specialist

Candidates must reside in the state of Georgia. This role is virtual full‑time, with required in‑person training sessions. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance will not be considered unless an accommodation is required by law.

Work Schedule

The position is in a 24‑hour call center operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. All shifts, including weekends and holidays, are being hired. Training is conducted Monday‑Friday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm EST.

Responsibilities

• Take inbound calls, texts, and chats from individuals seeking support or in crisis.
• Perform safety screenings and assessments to determine the presence and acuity of risk to the individual or others.
• Use information gathered to understand needs and develop a collaborative plan of action.
• Document interactions promptly and accurately according to established criteria.
• Provide linkage follow‑up as directed to ensure individuals access needed services.
• Coordinate with agencies, organizations, and individuals to optimize use of resources, services, and natural support systems.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health, **or** a minimum of 6 months of direct crisis experience that includes screenings and assessments, **or** an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) in mental health or another human services field.
• Two years of experience working directly with individuals needing behavioral health services.
• Call‑center experience.
• Crisis‑intervention experience.
