About the role

The Children's Mobile Crisis Team provides a mobile crisis response to children and youth experiencing a mental health crisis. Clinicians meet with the child and family in hospitals, community settings, or at home, offering calm, empathetic support while assessing the situation. The role involves collaborating with family members and hospital staff to develop safety and stabilization plans, allowing the child to remain in the most normative environment possible—preferably their own home.

This position is based in the North Tacoma office and requires scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of youth and families. Services are provided in community-based settings and family homes, emphasizing collaboration, coordination, and intensive behavioral health support.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile crisis response to children and youth in mental health crises, meeting families in hospitals, community settings, or homes.
• Assess crisis situations with empathy and clinical expertise, working closely with family members and hospital staff.
• Develop safety and stabilization plans to help children remain in their homes or most normative environments.
• Collaborate with families, natural supports, and community services to achieve long-term safety and stability.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to respond to community crisis needs, including on-call rotation responsibilities.
• Deliver culturally competent, strengths-based mental health services in multi-cultural situations.
• Visually assess safety in community and home settings while meeting clients and colleagues in various locations.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or an equivalent accredited degree.
• Knowledge of WISe (Wraparound with Intensive Services) principles or Crisis Response strategies preferred.
• Passion for helping families stay together and an energetic, innovative approach to engaging children, youth, and families.
• Enthusiastic and optimistic attitude, encouraging ongoing participation from all involved.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a genuine strengths-based approach.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent services in multi-cultural situations.
• Preference for a flexible schedule over a traditional 8-5, facility-based position.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation responsibilities.
• Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation with an acceptable driving record per CCS policy.
• Successful completion of required background clearances prior to employment.
• Support and uphold the mission, beliefs, and values of Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services.

Pay

Starting Base Salary Range: $90,084.80 – $100,193.60.

Additional earning opportunities include:

• First Responder Pay: $1,800 per year.
• Crisis Team Member Differential Pay: $125 per pay period.
• Performance-based pay: Up to $8,000 per year.
• Clinical Licensing Supervision and Licensure Pay: $250 per pay period.
• Bi-lingual fluency stipend (Spanish/English or other languages): $100–$200 per pay period, tiered based on proficiency and family needs.
