About the role
The Crisis Center Administrative Assistant supports a multidisciplinary team providing administrative and staff support to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center. Services include assessment, intervention, and treatment coordination for adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises.
Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls and triage clients to appropriate services
- Prepare intake paperwork and maintain client records
- Coordinate appointments and referrals with healthcare providers
- Manage daily operations including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting
- Assist with training and orientation of new staff members
- Support the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in providing crisis intervention services
- Communicate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience providing clerical or administrative support, and/or customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Type 45 words per minute, accurately and consistently
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
- Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Qualifications

Benefits
- 10% premium pay
- $2 shift differential when working Saturday and Sunday
Pay
$17.24 - $22.86 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Final job offer is based on internal equity, skills, education, experience, and credentials.
Schedule
Part-time, 30 hours a week, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00am to 5:00pm. In-person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
