About the role

The Crisis Center Administrative Assistant supports a multidisciplinary team providing administrative and staff support to the Behavioral Health Crisis Center. Services include assessment, intervention, and treatment coordination for adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises.

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls and triage clients to appropriate services
  • Prepare intake paperwork and maintain client records
  • Coordinate appointments and referrals with healthcare providers
  • Manage daily operations including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting
  • Assist with training and orientation of new staff members
  • Support the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) in providing crisis intervention services
  • Communicate with clients, families, and other stakeholders to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience providing clerical or administrative support, and/or customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Type 45 words per minute, accurately and consistently
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation for job related use
  • Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Qualifications

Benefits

  • 10% premium pay
  • $2 shift differential when working Saturday and Sunday

Pay

$17.24 - $22.86 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Final job offer is based on internal equity, skills, education, experience, and credentials.

Schedule

Part-time, 30 hours a week, working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00am to 5:00pm. In-person at 260 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
