About the role

The Commission on Crime and Delinquency is seeking a Criminal Justice System Specialist 2 to support training programs and operational needs of the Constables' Education and Training Board and the Bureau of Training Services. The position focuses on organizing training materials, coordinating meetings, assisting curriculum development, assessing training needs, overseeing contracts, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities

  • Training Materials: Write, prepare, organize, and distribute packets, reports, newsletters, minutes, and correspondence for Board and agency use.
  • Meeting Coordination: Arrange meetings, manage scheduling details, and coordinate with fiscal staff for contracts and billing.
  • Curriculum Support: Assist with developing training curricula, review contractor‑developed materials, and recommend improvements.
  • Needs Assessment: Use questionnaires, interviews, and job‑task analysis methods to review training needs and support program planning.
  • Contract Oversight: Develop work statements, review invoices, and evaluate contractor performance to ensure quality training delivery.
  • Record Management: Maintain hard‑copy and computer‑based training records, conduct research, respond to inquiries, and support other programs as needed.

Qualifications

  • One year as a Criminal Justice System Specialist 1 (or equivalent Federal Government job title), or
  • Two years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services + a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or
  • One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services + a master’s degree in a related field, or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirements.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a background investigation.

Schedule

  • Full‑time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch break.
  • Part‑time telework possible, provided the employee has a securely configured high‑speed internet connection and works from an approved location within Pennsylvania. Telework eligibility may change.
  • If telework is not used, the employee reports to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
