Credit Underwriting Manager

Our client is a leader in the commercial niche lending space, seeking a seasoned Commercial Underwriting Manager to oversee a team of about 10 credit analysts/underwriters. This role supports a market that doesn’t typically fit traditional bank lending models, with credits ranging from $1 to $30 million.

About the role

Supervise Credit Underwriters who perform independent credit analysis and risk assessment on large and complex credit relationships. Identify and assess key risks tied to a borrower’s financial performance, industry, and other variables to determine risk profiles. Promote and support the bank’s mission by delivering extraordinary service to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 10 credit analysts/underwriters.
• Perform independent credit analysis and risk assessment for large, complex credit relationships.
• Identify and evaluate key risks related to borrower financial performance, industry trends, and other relevant variables.
• Determine borrower risk profiles and ensure alignment with lending standards.
