Credit Business Adjunct (2027 Academic Year)

Germanna Community College is seeking part‑time adjunct faculty to teach Business Administration and Management courses for the 2027 academic year. Candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance to Fredericksburg, VA, or be willing to relocate.

About the role

Adjunct faculty members are responsible for planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with diverse academic backgrounds. Teaching may be delivered in various modalities, including virtual instruction, and may involve developing online courses in both synchronous and asynchronous formats.

Responsibilities

• Effectively plan and teach Business Administration and Management courses.
• Utilize relevant technology and learning management systems to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment, and communication.
• Maintain consistent communication and virtual support to ensure student success in online environments.
• Develop and deliver innovative online course content.
• Complete required training (Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2) prior to teaching.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned and assist state agencies during emergency declarations.
• Travel to campus locations as needed.

Requirements

• Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the specific discipline; official transcripts required.
• Two years of teaching experience and relevant work experience in the field.
• Demonstrated experience with online teaching and development of synchronous and asynchronous courses at a regionally accredited institution.
• Ability to teach in multiple modalities, including virtual instruction.
• Proficiency with technology and learning management systems; access to reliable Wi‑Fi and computers for remote teaching.
• Commitment to continuous professional development in virtual education.
• Completion of Growing with Canvas and TOPS 2.2 training before teaching.

Pay

$836 – $1,737 per credit hour (final salary determined by academic credentials and experience via the VCCS‑10 process).

Schedule

Part‑time position; work hours vary between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm depending on availability and scheduling needs. Telework options are subject to change based on business needs.
