Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee established School Bus Safety Department duties.
- Write narrative reports, event summaries, and activity reports.
- Navigate several vehicle-based IT camera systems.
- Coordinate and supervise activities of assigned safety trainers/driver coaches.
- Complete applicant on-boarding process, document completion, driver training, road evaluations, accident response/investigation, and drug collection.
- Aid drivers in understanding safety policies and compliance.
- Transition between different tasks.
- Respond to accidents, safety-related issues, and recorded events in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with all Operations and Safety staff to enhance overall safety and operational goals.
Position Requirements
- At least two years as a school bus driver with an accident-free driving record for the past two years.
- At least one year as a School Bus Safety Trainer.
- Strong knowledge of audio/visual/electronic systems.
- Effective communication skills with drivers, management, and coworkers.
- A valid school bus driver’s license and medical card.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to retain and disseminate safety-related information accurately.
- The capability to conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions.
