About the Role
WEAU is seeking a Creative Services Manager to lead a team responsible for commercial production, marketing, branding, and station partnerships. This department head position reports directly to the General Manager and requires strong time management, organizational skills, and the ability to engage with clients, station partners, and community stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of helping clients build their brand and strengthen commercial messages through high-quality television and digital production.
Responsibilities
- Develop and supervise the execution of all on-air, digital, and outside media related to promotion and imaging of station programming and news.
- Utilize research and collaborate with various departments to develop and implement strategic marketing plans to build station awareness.
- Prepare and manage the department budget.
- Periodically produce media releases and act as the station contact for outside media.
- Ensure quality control of news, commercial, promotional, and public service production and marketing.
- Develop immediate and long-range marketing plans for the station.
- Manage and coordinate all outside media and specialty advertising.
- Provide training for members of the Creative Services team, including support with Adobe Creative Suite and cameras.
- Familiarity with Blackmagic, Sony, DJI, and Canon equipment; FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot Certification training is required.
- Meet deadlines consistently.
Requirements
- 3+ years of management experience.
- A 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Strong writing background and solid knowledge of lighting, with a creative eye for shooting video and composing promotion campaigns.
- Working knowledge of contest rules.
- Broad-based knowledge of marketing standards, media environment, and audience consumption trends.
- Proven leadership skills: fosters open dialogue, empowers others, and addresses conflicts directly.
- Exceptional time management skills, a can-do attitude, and a strong work ethic.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
