Responsibilities
- Own the entire creative lifecycle for original longform content — from initial concept through treatment, production, and final delivery.
- Bring ideas to life, not just execute other people's visions.
- Develop series concepts, pitch formats, narrative frameworks, and episode structures from scratch.
- Identify stories within the Unrivaled universe that have the depth, tension, and character to sustain an audience across multiple episodes.
- Lead the edit with a director's eye and an editor's instinct.
- Oversee or execute the full post-production process — offline and online edit, color grade, sound design, music supervision, motion graphics, and final delivery.
- Ensure the pacing, tone, and structure of every edit serves the story first.
- Produce content built for distribution from the moment of capture.
- Understand the structural and editorial differences between a YouTube longform episode, a TikTok hook, an Instagram Reel, and a Snapchat story — and build shoots and cuts with all of them in mind.
- Work closely with the Social Media Director, Creative Director, and Platform Strategist to ensure every longform piece generates a full content ecosystem across platforms.
- Create brand integration concepts that feel native to the show's creative identity across all four formats — Embedded mid-confessional reads, Presenting Partner placement, Sponsored Chair, and Unrivaled Commercial athlete-led skits.
Qualifications
- Created and shipped a serialized longform series — not just standalone videos.
- Have a body of work that proves it.
- Have a proven history of building series from start to finish with above-industry audience retention rates — you don't just attract viewers, you hold them.
- Built a production workflow from the ground up in an environment where the infrastructure didn't exist when you arrived.
- Can write a treatment, direct a shoot, oversee a cut, and deliver the final file — all in the same week.
- Understand story structure the way an editor understands a timeline — instinctively, with clear logic behind every decision.
- Think about thumbnails, titles, and hooks as part of the creative concept — not afterthoughts.
- Worked alongside athletes and public figures and know how to get the best out of them on camera.
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Experienced with cinema camera systems and professional audio workflows.
- Proficient in collaborative media management using Frame.io, LucidLink, or equivalent DAM platforms, and YouTube Studio Analytics.
