Key Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in new client interviews & workshops — where you will ask open-ended questions and listen for key insights that will shape the strategy, creative direction, and messaging for that brand.
  • Collaborate with our creative director to identify and write the core strategic messaging for a brand (mission, vision, values, position statements, brand platforms, USP, value propositions, etc).
  • Strategically identify opportunities for differentiation, aka white space or blue ocean, and own the creation of verbal identities that successfully deliver on that strategy. This includes the articulation of core creative ideas, brand story, taglines, tone of voice, brand pillars, etc.
  • Write unique ownable headlines and copy for brand collateral across various platforms and mediums (print & digital).
  • Collaborate closely with our owner/creative director to identify and implement marketing strategies and content to amplify demand and growth for Attic Salt.
  • Successfully manage your own time, calendars, and meetings to deliver work within scope using ClickUp, Miro, and Google Drive.

About the Role

Attic Salt brand strategists are charismatic communicators with world-class taste who know exactly get people on board with their bold ideas. As a brand strategist, you’ll collaborate with team members from ideation to implementation, shaping work that's thoughtful at every layer.

Requirements

  • Have 5+ years of experience working directly at or with a branding-focused agency and can independently lead enterprise-level clients through strategic brand development work.
  • Have experience with tech and software brands.
  • Have an evidence-backed portfolio of successful brand strategy and verbal identity creation you've led or supported (brand architecture, positioning, USPs, tone of voice, messaging guidelines, etc.).
  • Can point to a documented, proven discovery, strategy, and writing process and can walk through it in detail.
  • While not a designer, have a deep understanding of what world-class brand design looks like and can redirect designers when the visuals don't deliver on the strategy.
  • Be highly organized and detail-oriented. Include the word "Tacos" somewhere in your application and earn yourself some bonus points.
  • Have excellent soft skills and can quickly build trust and rapport with clients and internal team members.
  • Locally live in Phoenix (preferred, but fully remote is an option for the right candidate).
