On-siteMarketingContract

If you're a copywriter who can write ad copy that makes people stop scrolling, click, and buy, you belong here. We're building a creative ad team to produce high-converting viral copy at scale.

About the role

You'll write headlines, body copy, and CTAs for paid campaigns across social platforms that reach millions. Your words will drive direct revenue and build our brand. We're not looking for someone to "find their voice"—we're looking for someone who already has one and knows how to weaponize it. This role is for experienced ad writers who want to ship fast, iterate based on performance data, and consistently produce copy that converts.

Responsibilities

  • Write viral ad copy at volume. You'll produce 5–10+ ad variations per week: headlines, body copy, CTAs, hooks that stop scrolls, and angles that resonate with our audience. Every piece built for conversion, not vanity metrics.
  • Test and iterate relentlessly. See performance data in real time to determine which headlines drive the most clicks and which CTAs have the highest conversion rates. Learn the patterns and apply them immediately.
  • Own the ad creative strategy alongside the media team. Brainstorm angles with our marketing team, understand campaign goals (leads, sales, community growth), and write copy that achieves them. Pitch angle variations and track winners.
  • Write for platforms that matter: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn. Adapt your voice, length, and approach to fit each platform’s DNA and audience.
  • Create frameworks and hooks that work. Discover and systematize patterns—angles, structures, hooks—that consistently convert, and teach others.
  • Collaborate with designers and media buyers. Work directly with design and media teams to ensure copy and creative align and land in front of the right people at the right time.

A Typical Week

  • Monday: Brainstorm campaign angles with the marketing team. Pitch 3 angle variations.
  • Tuesday–Thursday: Write 12 ad variations across 3 different campaign angles. Test on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Friday: Review performance data. Identify top 3 performers. Refine those angles for next week. Write post-mortems on what didn’t work.
  • Ongoing: Spot trends. Pitch new angles based on real-time data.

Requirements

  • Proven ad copy experience: 2+ years writing ads (Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.). Case studies showing ad copy you wrote and the results it drove (click-through rates, cost per acquisition, return on ad spend). Numbers required.
  • Speed without sacrificing quality: Write 3 strong variations in an hour. Ship fast, trust your instincts, and avoid overthinking.
  • Understanding of what converts: Know the difference between engagement bait and high-intent copy. Understand pain points, desire, and urgency. Sell a product in 30 words.
  • Direct response mindset: Think in metrics (open rates, click rates, conversion rates). Obsess over data to see what worked and why.
  • Platform fluency: Adapt instantly to the voice, length, and style of each platform (TikTok vs. LinkedIn).
  • Collaborative but independent: Take direction well and work closely with creative/media teams, but also know when to push back and trust your gut. Ship without constant feedback.
  • Hunger to win: Competitive, celebrate top-performing ads, and care deeply about results.
  • Comfort with iteration and failure: Some ads won’t work. Ship, learn, and move on without ego or drama.

What We Don’t Need

  • Blog writers or content writers (this is ads only).
  • Designers or video editors (we have those).
  • Agency experience required (freelance, in-house, doesn’t matter—results do).
  • Deep expertise in the business niche (we’ll teach you the audience).

How You’ll Measure Success

  • Click-through rate and conversion rate improvements over time.
  • Number of ad variations you write that become top performers.
  • Cost per acquisition on campaigns you write copy for.
  • Whether the marketing team is asking for more of your variations.
  • Speed of turning around quality copy without losing momentum.
  • Whether your copy evolves into repeatable frameworks other writers study.

A Typical Example of Your Work

You write a Facebook ad headline: "I bought 3 laundromats in 6 months with $0 of my own money. Here's how." Body copy hooks on a specific, relatable angle. CTA is clear and direct. It runs for a week and converts at 2.8% (strong for the niche). You analyze why it worked: specific number, relatability, proof of concept. You write 4 variations on that angle the next week. Two beat it. One becomes your top performer for the quarter.

Pay

Project-based / Freelance (per ad, per campaign, or retainer—we'll discuss).

Schedule

Location: Austin, TX (hybrid—you'll need to be in Austin for regular collaboration).
