The Opportunity
We have more marketing opportunity in front of us than we have job descriptions to hold it. So rather than post five narrow roles and wait for five perfect matches, we are opening one role and inviting you to tell us what it should be. We know that the highest-leverage marketing hire is often the one nobody thought to write a job description for. So this posting is deliberately open: bring us the skillset you are strongest at, show us what it would do for a company at our stage, and if the case is compelling, we will build the role around it. This is a real full-time position with a real manager, a real title, and a real compensation band. All three are set once we understand what you are going to own. What does not flex is the bar - we are hiring for judgment, creativity, and the ability to make things happen without a playbook handed to you.
How This Role Gets Defined
- Application. You tell us the area you would own and what you would do with it. Every candidate answers the same prompts.
- Interview. We pressure-test the idea and your ability to execute it. Every candidate is evaluated against the same criteria, regardless of specialty or level.
- Offer. We set your title, level, compensation, and reporting line based on the scope we agree you will own. You will have all of it in writing before you accept.
- First 90 days. You and the Head of Marketing write a scoping charter together: your focus areas, the outcomes you own, and how success is measured. It is revisited each quarter as the work evolves. You will not be dropped into open space and asked to figure it out. The scope is flexible. The accountability is not.
Where You Might Focus
- Social media strategy and channel management
- Short-form video: concepting, shooting, editing, publishing
- Overall marketing strategy, positioning, and messaging
- Content, editorial, and copywriting
- SEO, web, performance marketing (Meta & Google) and conversion rate optimization
- Brand and creative production
- Partnerships, creators, and community
- Something we have not thought of
What Every Version of This Role Includes
- Own defined marketing outcomes end to end - from idea through execution to measurement, with limited day-to-day direction.
- Exercise independent judgment on priorities, approach, and tradeoffs within your scope, and escalate the decisions that warrant it.
- Define and document your scope, goals, and success metrics with your manager, and keep that documentation current as the work changes.
- Use AI tools throughout your workflow to increase both the speed and the quality of your output.
- Measure and report on the performance of your work, and change course based on what the results show.
- Collaborate across marketing, member success, clinical, product, and design.
- Translate clinical and scientific concepts into consumer communication that is clear, accurate, and compliant.
- Communicate clearly in writing: briefs, recommendations, and results that other people can act on.
- Manage your own workload and meet committed deadlines without close supervision.
- Work a hybrid schedule from our Chandler, AZ office.
What We Are Looking For
- AI fluency. You use AI tools as a genuine force multiplier, not a novelty. You can point to specific work where AI changed what you were able to produce.
- Creative thinking. You generate ideas that are not the obvious ones, and you have work to show for it. Portfolio, campaigns, videos, posts, decks — whatever form your output takes.
- Strategic thinking. You connect the work to the business. You can explain why a tactic matters, what it is meant to move, and how you would know whether it worked.
- Critical thinking. You interrogate your own assumptions, ask the question nobody else asked, and can be talked out of a bad idea by evidence. You should also be able to demonstrate:
- Real ownership of marketing work at any scale: a channel, a campaign, a launch, a client, a side project, your own brand.
- Comfort with ambiguity
