This role serves as the face of Crater Lake Spirits, delivering exceptional customer service to both retail and industry visitors in the Crater Lake Spirits Tasting Room in Bend, Oregon. The primary responsibility is to educate consumers about the history, craftsmanship, and quality of Crater Lake Spirits, while supporting retail sales as a secondary function. Must be 21+ to apply. This position receives tips.
Responsibilities
- Provide product tastings to public and industry guests
- Be familiar with each product, manufacturing process, and product category
- Follow OLCC rules and regulations at all times
- Craft and batch mini cocktails
- Maintain product inventory
- Perform retail sales, including processing credit card transactions
- Clean glassware and stock supplies as needed
- Maintain a clean environment, including restrooms
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Experience in a bar or restaurant and/or training in the alcohol industry desired
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers, and employees
Skills
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions, making change, and calculating tabs
- Ability to measure and pour accurately, including converting between ounces and milliliters
- Understanding of ABV/proof calculations
- Comfort with simple ratio math for scaling cocktail recipes and tracking inventory or waste
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Schedule
This is a part-time, hourly position based in Bend, Oregon, typically requiring 28 hours per week, Thursday through Monday. Some flexibility may be required.
